Unser Ansatz kombiniert akustische Aufzeichnung, Citizen Science und maschinelles Lernen, um Arten in den Zielgebieten zu identifizieren und zu katalogisieren \u2013 mit besonderem Fokus auf die Entdeckung verlorener, seltener und wenig erforschter Arten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Bioakustik spielt eine entscheidende Rolle im modernen Naturschutz. Diese nicht-invasive Methode erm\u00f6glicht eine kontinuierliche Datenerfassung \u00fcber l\u00e4ngere Zeitr\u00e4ume hinweg und macht es so m\u00f6glich, selbst die scheuesten vokalisierenden Arten zu entdecken. Ihre Bedeutung f\u00fcr das gro\u00dffl\u00e4chige Monitoring kann nicht hoch genug eingesch\u00e4tzt werden, insbesondere wenn es darum geht, die Verbreitung von Arten zu verstehen. Durch die Erfassung und Analyse tierischer Laut\u00e4u\u00dferungen erhalten wir beispiellose Einblicke in Biodiversit\u00e4tsmuster und die Gesundheit von \u00d6kosystemen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Dennoch steht die Bioakustik vor mehreren Herausforderungen. Aktuelle Methoden beruhen oft stark auf menschlichen Experten f\u00fcr die Klanganalyse \u2013 ein zeitaufw\u00e4ndiger Prozess, der die Skalierbarkeit der \u00dcberwachung begrenzt. W\u00e4hrend maschinelle Lernmodelle vielversprechende Ans\u00e4tze zur Automatisierung dieses Prozesses zeigen, mangelt es ihnen h\u00e4ufig an ausreichenden Daten aus tropischen Regionen \u2013 genau dort, wo die Biodiversit\u00e4t am h\u00f6chsten, aber auch am st\u00e4rksten bedroht ist. Diese Ger\u00e4te werden f\u00fcr l\u00e4ngere Zeitr\u00e4ume an den Zielorten platziert, wobei die Aufnahmen entweder manuell oder mithilfe von maschinellem Lernen analysiert werden, um vokalisierende Arten zu identifizieren.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-contrast-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6490cccb1a27b3fdf54852ede16e32bb\">Wir nutzen akustische Aufzeichnungen aus tropischen Regionen, die zun\u00e4chst automatisiert mit Hilfe von Werkzeugen wie <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/kahst\/BirdNET-Analyzer\">BirdNET<\/a>identifiziert werden. Anschlie\u00dfend binden wir Citizen Scientists ein, um diese Identifizierungen zu \u00fcberpr\u00fcfen und zu erg\u00e4nzen. So schlagen wir eine Br\u00fccke zwischen maschinellem Lernen und menschlicher Expertise. Dieser Ansatz verbessert nicht nur bestehende Artenidentifikationsmodelle, sondern hilft auch dabei, herauszufinden, welche Arten in diesen Modellen noch fehlen \u2013 insbesondere in tropischen \u00d6kosystemen, die bislang nur unzureichend erforscht sind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Ein zentraler Fokus von \"Dem Unbekannten lauschen\" liegt auf der Entdeckung und Untersuchung verlorener, seltener und wenig erforschter Arten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Mit Blick auf die Zukunft wollen wir \u2013 gemeinsam mit unseren Partnern \u2013 fortschrittliche Deep-Learning-Algorithmen entwickeln, die unbekannte Ger\u00e4usche in der Umwelt erkennen und klassifizieren k\u00f6nnen. Dies k\u00f6nnte potenziell zur Entdeckung verlorener oder neuer Arten sowie bisher unbekannter Laut\u00e4u\u00dferungen f\u00fchren. Durch die kontinuierliche Verfeinerung unserer Modelle arbeiten wir daran, gro\u00dffl\u00e4chige \u00dcberwachungsmethoden noch genauer und effizienter zu gestalten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Die Auswirkungen dieses Projekts reichen weit \u00fcber akademisches Interesse hinaus. Durch die Verbesserung unserer F\u00e4higkeit, seltene Arten aufzusp\u00fcren und zu \u00fcberwachen, liefern wir wertvolle Daten f\u00fcr Naturschutzentscheidungen und politische Ma\u00dfnahmen.
