It is that range of biodiversity that we must care for – the whole thing – rather than just one or two stars.

Our Mission

Biodiversity—the variety of life on Earth—is under threat. Despite discovering around 18,000 species annually, we’ve only catalogued 20% of all biodiversity, leaving many species unknown and at risk. Tragically, many of the species we have catalogued are now lost (in limbo between extant and extinct), with little known about them. Others go extinct before we can even study them. Our mission is to conduct cutting-edge biodiversity research targeting lost, rare, and understudied species, transforming discoveries into targeted conservation strategies. By supporting our work, you are helping to uncover the mysteries of our planet’s biodiversity and protect it for future generations.

We are committed to the preservation of biodiversity. Working with fellow scientists, local experts, and engaged citizens, we strive to protect and conserve species and ecosystems. Our focus is on lost, those not reliably observed in a decade or more, data-deficient, those where we lack the information necessary to evaluate their extinction risk, and endangered species, those known to be at threat of extinction.
