Current projects

What we're working on right now.

Funding

What your support funds.

  • €150

Keeps a two-person team in the field for a day: fuel, food, the basics that keep a survey going.

  • €500

Puts a professional bioacoustic recorder in the forest for a year.

  • €2,500

Makes a paper open access, so the findings reach anyone working on the species rather than sitting behind a paywall.

Costs vary by project. Donations fund the science and help cover everything that keeps RARElab running.

Outcomes

What that produces.

The science we do produces specific outcomes. Sometimes new biology on a species nobody has studied properly. Sometimes a rediscovery, or the formal IUCN-grade evidence needed to declare a species extinct. Often data that feeds an IUCN reassessment, a recovery plan with local partners, or the eventual reintroduction of captive birds into restored habitat.

Other ways

Other ways to help.

Volunteer

We look for skills in fundraising, communications, and the field sciences, and for country and regional advisors who can help on the ground.
